Newburgh Free Academy’s football team wasn’t the high school’s only team to excel this season. The boys’ track team broke school records and earned medals in a meet on Saturday.
The NFA boys’ track team traveled to Staten Island on Saturday to compete against some of the top schools from the Catholic League.
The team set two new school records while competing in the Sophomore Division. They captured first place in the distance medley relay and first place in the sprint medley relay.
The Freshman Division also excelled in the meet. They earned a first place victory in the “A” Team 4x200m relay and fourth place in the “C” Team 4x200m relay.
The Varsity division secured a second place win in the 4x400m relay, third place in the 55 meter high hurdle, fifth place in the sprint medley relay, and fifth place in the 55 meter high hurdles.
