Salvatore (Sal) Geraci, age 83, entered into rest on June 20, 2022 in the comfort of his home with his wife of 56 years and children by his side.
Salvatore was born February 19, 1939 in Santo Stefano Quisquina, Sicily to the late Pietro and Federica Geraci. He married Lidia Geraci on April 28, 1966 in Santo Stefano, Sicily.
Salvatore immigrated to NY from Italy with his wife expecting their first child in 1966. After working many odd jobs, he co-founded Torino Bakery in 1970 with his 2 brothers-in-law Isidoro Lauria and Ignazio Comparetto, where they built a successful business of 52+ years.
Sal is survived by his wife Lidia Geraci at home; his son Pietro (Pete) Geraci and his wife Athena of Newburgh, daughter Fina DeSantis and her husband John of Naples FL; and grandchildren: Pietro Salvatore Geraci, Nicholas Albenga, Alaina Geraci, and Daniella DeSantis.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Angelo and Atillio, and his sister Lina Geraci.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24 at Sacred Heart Church, with entombment following in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
