Coldenham Firefighters Assist at Two-Alarm Fire

The Coldenham Fire Department hurried into the Town of Montgomery to assist at a two-alarm house fire yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 3:12pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023, the Montgomery Fire Department was alerted to a house fire at 200 Hill Avenue, located in a rural area between Route 17K and Route 52. The incident commander arrived on the scene, discovered heavy fire coming from the front of the house, and transmitted a second alarm.

The Coldenham Fire Department responded with a tanker as well as a rescue truck with a FAST Team, which is a crew of specially trained firefighters tasked with search and rescue of any downed firefighters.

Firefighters entered the inferno to search for any victims with negative results. Firefighters then began knocking down the fire. No injuries were reported.

The Montgomery and Coldenham Fire Departments were joined by the Maybrook Fire Department with one pumper and one tanker, the Walden Fire Department with one ladder truck and one tanker, the Pine Bush Fire Department with one rescue truck and one tanker, and additional tankers from the Bullville, Hamlet of Wallkill, Shawangunk, and Walker Valley Fire Departments. The Campbell Hall Fire Department assisted with a pumper at a fill site to supply tanker trucks with water.

The Washingtonville Fire Department stood by to cover all additional calls in Montgomery.
