Emergency services are currently rushing to the Mary Jane’s Dairy Bar in the Town of Newburgh for a report of a car that has crashed into the building with victims injured.
At approximately 4:55pm today – Saturday, February 11, 2023, the Middlehope Fire Department was dispatched to respond to the accident. Mary Jane’s is a popular ice cream spot on Route 9W in the northern end of the Town of Newburgh, which is closed for the season.
The Town of Newburgh Police are on the scene. The Middlehope Fire Department is on the scene currently attempting to stabilize the building. An off-duty Town of Newburgh Building Inspector has been requested to respond and assess the damage. Central Hudson is being called in to shut off power to the building.
Emergency medical service crews are also on the scene. The vehicle’s occupants are reportedly out of the vehicle but have been injured.
