City of Newburgh Announces Youth Sports this Winter

The City of Newburgh today announced several Recreation Department sports programs launching this winter. The programs are designed to promote cognitive development, improve coordination, expand social skills, and instill respect, responsibility and sportsmanship.

The following is a list of program offerings being offered to City of Newburgh residents this winter:

Winter Youth Soccer
Beginning on December 5, 2022, through February 8, 2023, the City will be launching the Winter Youth Soccer program on Monday and Wednesday evenings for children ages 3-5 and 6-8. This program will provide children the chance to learn the basics of soccer at the Heritage Middle School gymnasium in New Windsor.

The cost for registration is $45 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Registration can be completed online at https://cityofnewburgh.recdesk.com/.

Winter Indoor Soccer Youth Clinic
The City will be launching a separate indoor soccer clinic beginning this December of 2022 through February 2023 every Monday and Wednesday evening for youth ages 10-12 and 16-17. The Indoor Soccer clinic will introduce participants to soccer and provides opportunities to hone soccer skills in a fun filled environment. These games will also be played at the Heritage Middle School gymnasium in New Windsor.

Winter Youth Basketball Clinics
The Winter Youth Basketball Clinic will run from Tuesday, November 29, 2022, through December 22, 2022. It will be held every Tuesday and Thursday evening for children in grades k-2 and 3-5. The clinics provide children the chance to learn fundamental basketball skills. The games will be played at the South Middle School in the City of Newburgh.

The cost to register is $20. Registration can be completed online at https://cityofnewburgh.recdesk.com/.

Participants in each of these leagues must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must be properly equipped. Limited equipment will be made available for those in need.
