The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department today announced its plans to run a winter basketball clinic with professional instructors from the Skyhawks Sports Academy.
The winter clinic will run on Thursday evenings from January 5 through February 23, 2023. Children ages 6 and 7 will play from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Those ages 8-10 will play from 6:35pm to 7:35pm. Ages 11-14 will play from 7:45pm to 9:00pm. All games will be played in the Vail’s Gate Elementary School gym.
The eight-week clinic is designed for beginner to intermediate players. Using professional curriculum, the instructors will focus on teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. They will also teach the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding, and defense. Each week will include skilled instruction as well as small scrimmages.
The fee to participate for the season is $85 for New Windsor residents and $95 for non-residents. Space is limited. Registration can be completed online at https://www.nwrecisfun.com.
