NFA Golfer Advances to State Championships

The Newburgh Free Academy Varsity girls’ golf team finished their regular season, clinching second place in their OCIAA division with an 8-2 league record. Their overall season record, including non-league matches, was 13-6.

Additionally, Reagan Roth qualified for the Section 9 tournament and will advance to the New York State championships to be held in Saratoga in June. She will compete with nine athletes from Section 9. Last season, she placed 7th in the Section 9 tournament.

On May 10, 2022, the Varsity team celebrated the senior class during their final home match at the Powelton Club. Newburgh defeated Kingston by three strokes, 162-165. NFA seniors Amanda Ahearn, Hailey Wanamaker and Kamryn Betcher were celebrated.

The team is coached by Dave Doulin.
