Umberto Delfini

Umberto Delfini, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, NY, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday April 27, 2022. He was 86.

Umberto was born on May 12, 1935 in Isernia, Italy. He was the son of the late Luigi Delfini, and the late Carolina Formichelli Delfini. He was a self-employed Mason Contractor in the area for over 50 years. Umberto was predeceased by his loving wife Rita Delfini; they were happily married for 62 years.

Besides being a loving husband and father, grandfather, and great grandfather, in his younger years he loved to fish the stream near his family farmhouse and ride his bike long distances with his friends in his hometown of Isernia. He moved to Newburgh at the age of 19. He loved to garden, he always had the largest garden in town, and he enjoyed sharing his harvest with family and friends. He especially enjoyed tending to his Fig trees. He also had love for animals. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and all of his friends.

Umberto is survived by his; daughter, Maria Cracolici and her husband, Anthony of Newburgh, NY; his son, Anthony L. Delfini and his wife, Kathleen of Wallkill, NY. His grandchildren are Anthony M. Delfini and his wife, Sarah of Highland, NY, Adam Delfini of Wallkill, NY, and Jonathan Delfini of Wallkill, NY; great-grandchildren are Connor, Ethan, and Logan Delfini. He also had had several nephews.

He is predeceased by his brothers; Arcangelo Delfini of Newburgh NY, and Nicondra Delfini of Isernia Italy.

Visitation was held at Hudson Valley Funeral Home. Inc. and a mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church Newburgh. Entombment followed at Cedar Hill Mausoleum in Newburgh, NY.
