Young Woman from Newburgh Named to SUNY Orange Board of Trustees

Jessica Hernandez, a Newburgh resident, has been named the Student Trustee to SUNY Orange’s Board of Trustees for the 2023 Spring semester.

In her new role, she will represent the College’s more than 3,500 students at Board meetings and other College events.

A pre-nursing student at the College, Hernandez also serves as president of the Newburgh campus Board of Activities and is enrolled in the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), which provides academic services to underrepresented minorities and economically disadvantaged students studying in selected curricula, STEM fields and those that lead to New York state licensed professions.

“I would like to express my gratitude for this great opportunity. I look forward to representing the student body to the best of my ability on the board,” Hernandez said. “Additionally, I invite any student organization to contact me if there is anything I can assist with.”

Her term will conclude at the Board’s June 2023 meeting.
