Meadow Hill School Holds Annual Multiplication March Madness

Fourth grade students at the Meadow Hill Elementary School in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District have spent the month of March participating in the school’s annual Multiplication Madness event.

Students have been working hard learning multiplication facts. Teachers took advantage of this month’s March Madness by having a Multiplication March Madness. Fourth grade students engaged in a competitions to master their multiplication facts.

The students have been committing their multiplication facts to memory during the school year to promote fluency and for weeks competed within their classes to earn a spot in the top 64 to represent their class. Each week, just like College Basketball, students have been competing to advance to the next round.

The final winner was Cailyn S, with Jackson C. as the runner up.

Every year, local businesses donate to Meadow Hill School for this event. Showtime Cinemas, Dairy Queen, Tarsio’s Bowling, Hudson Valley Renegades, Bounce and Legoland have all made donations for motivational prizes for the students.
