Town of Cornwall officials are in the process of scheduling a meeting to address safety concerns on the notorious Storm King Mountain following an 18-car pileup on Monday.
The Newburgh News first reported on the story early Monday morning after 18 cars crashed on Route 9W atop Storm King Mountain, presumably due to black ice (story here).
Cornwall Town Supervisor Joshua Wojehowski asked Cornwall Emergency Management Director Kurt Hahn to help coordinate a round-table meeting with local, county, state, and federal officials, as well as first responders and applicable agencies.
“Something must be done to address the continued safety issues for residents and those responding to incidents on the mountain,” Wojehowski explained.
