Orange County Sheriff Announces Partnership with Homeless Organization

Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta has announced a partnership with HONOR, a not-for-profit organization based in Orange County which is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless people.

Arteta was recently invited to HONOR to tour the facility and learn more about their mission. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with HONOR and stated they are grateful to have the benefit of providing this resource to Orange County residents.

HONOR provides a temporary home to over 100 people a day. Although their primary purpose has been a homeless shelter, the dedicated team at HONOR is committed to
providing “Hope through Hospitality.” They provide housing, food, crisis intervention, counseling, rehabilitation, and much more to those in need.

Arteta announced that he and his team are committed to assisting HONOR in all of their
efforts. Through the Sheriff’s Office’s partnerships with HONOR, Orange County Mental Health, and various substance abuse programs/committees, Arteta plans to combat the homeless crisis on a county level and ensure residents are provided with the necessary resources.n any given evening, HONOR provides a temporary home to over 100 people.

Since 1974, HONOR has provided all Orange County residents in need a safe environment that is committed to rebuilding the self-esteem and dignity of all those we are blessed to serve. 

HONOE helps to provide housing, food, crisis intervention, counseling, residential stabilization and rehabilitation, and vocational skills. It is a not-for-profit organization that operates 15 independent yet integrated licensed programs.

HONOR is under contract to provide services with Orange County Government.  They are strongly rooted within the Orange County community and maintain agreements with over 60 providers of health, mental health, substance abuse, legal and homeless services on behalf of the clients we serve.  They also maintain a 24 hour triage call center to first provide immediate stabilization (providing, shelter, food, clothing, safety and emergency health, mental health and substance abuse services) through immediate connections to specialty providers and secondary care management.
