Maureen Garrison of the Town of Newburgh entered into rest at home on February 15, 2023.

Maureen was the daughter of Jerry Shaw and the late Ada Barbara Aievoli Shaw. She was the wife of Christian D. Garrison.

Maureen had many enjoyments in life and called her self the domestic engineer at the Garrison Homestead. She enjoyed preparing meals, entertaining family and friends, making sure everyone had enough to eat and a drink to go with it, Maureen was an exceptional cook and baker. She enjoyed walking her beloved dogs around the block, the shores of the Hudson and taking them on picnic lunches in the mountains.

Survivors include her husband; Chris at home, son; Blaec E. Shaw and his wife Lauren, granddaughter; Harper Maureen Shaw of VA, father; Jerry Shaw of Marlboro, sister; Victoria Johnson and her companion David Mitchell of VT, brother; Mark Shaw of Marlboro, mother-in-law; Patricia D. Garrison of Wallkill, step-daughter; Kayla Garrison and her companion Kyle Lammon, step-granddaughter; Lily Lammon of Kingston, sister-in-law; Kimberly Butler and her husband Brian of New Windsor, special aunt; Ida Kay of Coldspring, several loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22,2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM, at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick Ave. (Rt 94) New Windsor, NY 12553 (845) 562-4411

The family wished to thank those who went above and beyond, making Maureen’s final months special: Victoria Johnson for her compassionate home care; Patricia Garrison for her endless supply of meals; her cousins for ice cream runs and sneaking her out on car rides; Tami Dryer, Chris Knight, the Scalzo family for their loving support; and Hospice of Orange and Sullivan for their compassion towards Maureen’s care.
