NFA Seniors Receive Instant Acceptance into Popular College

High school seniors from the Newburgh Free Academy West and North campuses applied to a popular college in Rockland County and were accepted on the spot.

Several Newburgh seniors will attend the St. Thomas Aquinas College in Rockland County. Among the college’s popular alumni is multi-millionaire Barbara Corcoran, most notable as an investor on the television show Shark Tank. The private college specializes in liberal arts and science.

New Jersey Senator Gordon M. Johnson, Maryland Senator Craig Zucker, and former Moroccan politician Lahcen Haddad also attended the prominent college.

NFA students toured the campus with current college students to learn about the Higher Educational Opportunity Program, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. During their visit, the college sponsored lunch for them.

NFA school counselors Lakeya Stukes and Noemi Deleon joined the students during their tour.
