Newburgh Music Students Win Auditions to Participate in All-County

A dozen students from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District will participate in an All-County music festival after successfully competing in auditions last week.

Music students from the Heritage Middle School, South Middle School, and Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus recently attended the Orange County Music Educators Association’s Junior High All-County auditions held at the Warwick Valley Middle School. The students prepared and performed high-level musical excerpts from orchestral and choral literature for an accredited adjudicator.

The following students were accepted and have been invited to perform at the Junior High All-County Music Festival to be held at the Valley Central High School on May 5 and May 6, 2023:

Madison Coughlin – Viola, Orchestra
Dayana Escobar – Chorus
April Marin – Chorus
Amaya Caban – Chorus
Caila McMillan – Chorus
Andrew Rodriguez – Chorus
Edgar Ramirez – Chorus
Drake Burns – Trombone, Band

The students were joined by teachers Michael Hickey, Rebecca Clina, Rick Santacroce, and Monica Antonelli-Guido.
