New Windsor PBA Donates Lunch to Senior Citizens at Health and Wellness Fair

The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department hosted a Senior Health and Wellness Fair at the town’s Community Center yesterday morning.

New Windsor teamed up with the Orange County Department of Health under the leadership of Health Commissioner Dr. Alicia Pointer and Director of Health Equity Barbara Clifford. Other agencies from the Town of New Windsor and Orange County also participated.

The New Windsor Police Department was on hand with helpful information for those who are aging. In addition, the New Windsor Police Benevolent Association generously sponsored lunch for all those in attendance. Hannaford Supermarket of Vail’s Gate sponsored the dessert.

“Our senior citizens are so important to us in New Windsor and we were happy to offer this event,” the New Windsor Recreation Department stated.

The fair featured health screenings and nutrition information. Each of the agencies in attendance provided information on programs geared toward senior citizens. Among the help being provided to seniors will be information on scams and information about health emergencies. COVID vaccines and boosters were also be given.
