Multiple Ambulances Called to Accident on Thruway in New Windsor

First responders rushed to the scene of a vehicle accident on the New York State Thruway in New Windsor this afternoon. At least one vehicle rolled over.

At approximately 3:08pm, the Vail’s Gate Fire Department, New Windsor EMS, and the New York State Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer and another vehicle in the southbound lanes of the Thruway near mile marker 56.5. The accident was parallel with Riley Road in the area of Summit Woods.

According to radio reports, an Orange County fire investigator was in the area and stopped to help. He requested multiple ambulances respond to the scene. No patients were reported to be trapped.

The extent of injuries is not known.
