Local Volunteer Named Human Rights Hero

A local volunteer has been named a “Human Rights Hero.”

Linda Jansen was recently honored by the City of Newburgh Human Rights Commission for her tireless volunteer work in the local community as well as her ongoing efforts with the Orange County government.

Jansen has worked with the Orange County Department of Health since 1989. Additionally, she has been with the Community Health Outreach Division for 18 years.

Jansen was honored for her volunteer work with the Loaves and Fishes Pantry, as well as other food charities and pantries in the City of Newburgh.

“Linda has been an asset to the Health Department and we are proud of her compassionate work and volunteerism in Newburgh,” wrote the Orange County Department of Health.
