Elected Officials Participate in Menorah Lighting at City of Newburgh Temple

Local elected officials from both political parties turned out to participate in a Menorah lighting in the City of Newburgh on Wednesday evening.

The lighting of the Giant Menorah took place at the Jewish Federation of Orange County’s Temple Beth Jacob and Congregation Agudas Israel, located on North Street.

The event was attended by New York State Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson, State Senator-Elect Rob Rolison, Town of Newburgh Deputy Supervisor Scott Manley, Orange and County Legislators Leigh Benton and Joe Minuta.

“I was happy to participate in the lighting of the Giant Menorah,” said Jacobson. “Happy Holidays to all!”

Rolison thanked Kol Yisrael of Newburgh for organizing the local annual celebration of the Festival of Lights.

“I was honored to join other elected officials, Temple Beth Jacob, Congregation Agudas Israel, and members of the Jewish Community Center this evening to light the menorah,” Rolison stated. “Chag Urim Sameach!”
