GAMS Pre-K Students Get Schooled in Oral Health by Nursing Student

Pre-K students in Tara Dupper’s class at the Gidney Avenue Memorial School in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District learned about oral health last week from a Mount Saint Mary College nursing student.

The presentation, put on by Morgan, a senior at the Mount, reminded the children of how to properly brush their teeth, the importance of flossing, and how eating healthy foods contributes to good oral health.

The young students watched videos about teeth brushing and also did some coloring.  They also participated in an activity to learn proper teeth brushing techniques.

At the end of the presentation, Morgan provided the students with oral hygiene kits to take home. Each kit contained a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and an oral health packet.
