Remembering Our Local 9/11 Victims

Tomorrow marks the 21-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks launched against the United States on September 11, 2001.

Many of those who were born before 9/11 vividly recall where they were and what they were doing when news reports of the attacks terrified the nation. The children of the 9/11 victims are now grown adults with children of their own.

Some local residents did not make it out alive.

The Town of Cornwall will hold their annual memorial ceremony tomorrow to honor the local residents as well as everyone else who perished in the attacks. The ceremony will be held at the traffic circle on Sunday, 9/11/2022 at 6:00 pm.

Orange County will hold their annual Patriot Day ceremony at the Orange County Abroretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park on Sunday, 9/11/2022 at 6:00pm. The keynote speaker will be Battalion Chief Eddie Boles, a longtime Orange County resident and almost 30-year member of the FDNY. He arrived at Ground Zero shortly after the second tower fell and remained there into the next day.
