Newburgh Students Perform at Renegades Game

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Empire Drumline and the Horizons-on-the-Hudson Elementary School chorus performed at the Hudson Valley Renegades game on Friday, May 13, 2022.

Horizons Principal Robert Glowacki, alongside his daughter, threw a strike as the ceremonial first pitch to get the game underway.

Newburgh students provided a bright spot with their performances. Kristina Martorano led the Horizons chorus performing along the first base line. At the start of the game, they sang the National Anthem. During the seventh inning stretch, they sane God Bless America and Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

In between innings, the District’s Empire Drumline, led by Dion Placencia, performed on the field as well as in the stands.

Each performance by the Horizons chorus and the Empire Drumline received ovations from the Renegades crowd.

The Renegades went on to lose to the Aberdeen IronBirds, 8-3.
