City of Newburgh Police Officer Kevin Herrera recently visited the Gidney Avenue Memorial School during lunch to eat and speak with the young students.
Officer Herrera went from table to table introducing himself to the youngsters. The students had several questions which he answered with a smile.
A third grade student then escorted Officer Herrera to the lunch line and shared with him the steps to getting a healthy school lunch. As he sat with a group of third graders, he recollected on his time as a Newburgh student while attending New Windsor Elementary School, South Middle School, and Newburgh Free Academy.
