Horizons Holds Dance Party, Library Tour for Pre-K Students

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Horizons on the Hudson School took their Pre-K students on a tour of the school library and held a dance party last week.

The event was held with school librarian Michell Wright Jumpp, the 2021 New York Library Association’s School Librarian of the Year.

The future kindergartners received their introduction to the library and teacher that will ultimately be guiding their literacy journey during their next six years at Horizons on the Hudson. Jumpp, along with her fifth grade helpers, showed the Pre-K students how to navigate the library and find books that interest them.

After a brief question and answer session, the music was turned on and the Pre-K students put their best dance moves on display.
