Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Visits Horizons

Employees from the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum visited Horizons-on-Hudson School in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District on Tuesday. The activities were part of the museum’s “Week of the Young Child” celebrations.

The purpose of the week-long event is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families. It is also intended to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Mr. Carl and his team from the museum visited three Pre-K classrooms at Horizons and taught the children safety precautions to take when encountering wildlife. The students had the opportunity to see a box turtle, a tree frog, and a rabbit.
