Heritage Students Create Kente Cloth

Heritage Middle School students in Ms. McCarthy’s art class created Kente Cloth which is being showcased in a public art display.

The students created these paper renditions of Kente Cloth using paper, stamps and jewels. The standards covered were to generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work, and to collaboratively exchange concepts and different points of view to generate innovative tools for creating art.

The students’ piece is now on display at the Ritz Theater on Broadway in celebration of Arts in Our Schools Month. The artwork will be displayed until April 6, 2022.
