Edmund A. Morrison, Jr.

March 14,1960 – May 8, 2023 (age 63)

New Windsor, NY

Edmund A. Morrison, Jr., known to his friends and family as Eddie, entered into eternal rest on May 8, 2023 at his home in New Windsor. He was 63 years old.

The son of the late Edmund Anthony Morrison, Sr. and Ellen Roberta (Donovan) Morrison, Edmund was born on March 14, 1960 in Manhattan, NY.

As a Registered Nurse working in critical care at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx for over 30 years, Eddie dedicated his life to helping others. Aside from his career in health care, Eddie led a rich life outside of his profession. A father of two children and husband to his beloved wife Nancy, Eddie enjoyed carpentry, music, hiking and volunteering. He volunteered with The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference where he contributed to maintaining many hiking trails in New York State including the Sweet Clover Trail at Schunnemunk Mountain. He also volunteered for more than 10 years through Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to Seniors in his community.

Perhaps his proudest accomplishment was when he retired early from his profession to aid in the care of his wife Nancy, who had been diagnosed with early onset dementia. Until the day she passed Eddie was ever by her side providing her with the care that only a spouse could provide. After her passing, Eddie settled into his new role as grandfather to his three beautiful grandchildren, becoming “Bhuto” (a mispronunciation of Abuelo).

Beloved by many, Eddie will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter Janine and her husband Cody, his son Sean and his wife Hannah, his three grandchildren Luke, June and Cole, his two brothers Kevin Morrison and C.J O’Neil and by all of his friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, May 13th at Quigley- Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On- Hudson, NY. Cremation will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY.
