Orange County Holds Picnic for Veterans, Military

The Orange County Veterans Services Agency hosted a picnic and resource fair for local veterans and their families to learn about which services and benefits are available to them. Active duty military and members of the Reserve were also invited to attend.

The event was held at Thomas Bull Memorial Park on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Veterans, military, and their families were treated to sausage and peppers, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, coffee, and soda. The Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club volunteered to cook the food. Members of the Gold Star Mothers helped out serving.

Multiple agencies and organizations had booths set up featuring literature to help veterans. Orange County Veterans Services Agency Director Christian Farrell welcomed those in attendance and encouraged them to take some of the information home with them.

“We were proud to host the picnic on what was a wonderful day and appreciate the generosity of our sponsors,” the Orange County Government wrote in a statement.
