March 2, 1947 – April 19, 2023 (age 76)
Pastor Ismael Diaz-Montanez, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. He was 76.
Son of the late Inocencio Diaz and Paula Montanez Rivera, he was born on March 2, 1947 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico.
Minister Ismael considered himself a servant of God and enjoyed preaching the word of God, and helping many churches. One of his favorite Bible verses was Psalm 107, “Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.” He also enjoyed cooking and listening to Jimmy Swaggart on TV.
Survivors include three sons, Jesse G. (Kim) Diaz of Port Jervis, NY, Kenneth (Danielle) Diaz of Marlboro, NY, and Johnathan (Jennifer) Diaz of Poughkeepsie, NY; two daughters, Anna (Tony) Molina of Brendon, FL, and Janice Duron of Marlboro, NY; five brothers, Arturo Diaz-Montanez of Newbugh, Luis (Hilda) Diaz-Montanez of New Windsor, Jesus (Margerita) Diaz-Montanez of Las Vegas, NV, Frank (Martha) Diaz-Montanez of Newburgh and Pastor Hector (Ibellis) Diaz-Montanez of Maybrook, NY; nine grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Church of God By Faith, 29 Bridge Street, Newburgh, NY. A Service will be held at 7:00 pm at the Church, with Pastor Hector Diaz-Montanez officiating.
Burial and a Graveside Service will take place 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, NY.
