Annual 5K Walk at Algonquin Park to Raise Money for Children’s Mental Health Programs

The annual 5K walk to raise awareness of children’s mental health will be held in the Town of Newburgh in two weeks. In addition to the walk, several fun activities will be on hand.

“Voices United 4 Change,” a non-profit organization based out of Goshen, is coordinating the annual 5K walk. It will be held at Algonquin Park on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Along with the walk, fun activities for the entire family have been planned. The event will feature games, crafts, a tricky tray, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and more.

The fee to attend varies based on the package purchased, but adults can register for as little as $5 each. Children may attend for free.

The money be used toward monthly support groups for teens and parents, one-on-one support for youth and families with mental health challenges, and youth mental health first aid trainings in the community. The annual walk is supported by Voices United 4 Change, the Orange County government, Access: Supports for Living, and Orange County System of Care.

Anyone wishing to donate items to be raffled off in baskets can contact rumarbashar@asfl.org.
