Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh recruited Newburgh Free Academy’s Visual Communication class to create a t-shirt design for their annual Walk for Housing.
Phillip Kimball, of Habitat for Humanity, presented to the class about their upcoming event and what they were looking for in a design. Kimball informed the student designers about required elements, styles, and coloring. They also discussed designs from previous classes and critiqued why specific designs have been chosen in the past over others.
Under the leadership of teacher Jeffrey Gebhardt, students created their designs and presented them to Kimball, who in turn shared the designs with the Habitat team. Feedback was provided and the final submissions were reviewed by the entire Habitat team with a final design being selected.
The design that is chosen will be used as the primary design for Habitat for Humanity of Great Newburgh’s Annual Walk for Housing t-shirt.
This year’s Walk for Housing is scheduled for Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 1:00pm. Registration begins at 12:00pm.
