The Heritage Middle School, part of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, recently hosted an interactive science night for students and families to learn about astronomy together.
The evening began with a virtual presentation by Dr. Trena Ferrell, a NASA Environmental Scientist.
During the event, students enjoyed science activities while parents were able to learn about ways in which to support their students in the middle school. Multiple stations were set up, including a presentation in the NFA Planetarium.
Students and families re-joined for activities that included a star show in the NFA Planetarium, building and testing rockets and parachutes, making Galaxy Slime and Moon Rocks, creating lanyards of the Universe, and heading outside for a constellation scavenger hunt.
