Kelly Mazei

Kelly Anne Mazei, of Middletown, formerly of Newburgh, entered into rest on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was 58.

Daughter of Barbara A. (Decker) Blackett and the late John Cavanaugh, she was born March 12, 1965 in Cornwall, NY.

Kelly Anne, formerly worked as a waitress for the Ikaros Diner, New Windsor. She had an infectious personality and loved anything chocolate or sweet. She also enjoyed sorting through thrift shops, and could not pass by a yard sale without stopping to look around.

Survivors include her mother Barbara A. Blackett of Marlboro; two sons, Steven Crisci of Ft. Lauterdale, FL and Samuel Gage Majias of Newburgh; two daughters, Angela R. Crisci of Poughkeepsie, and Savannah Kniffin of Washingtonville; one brother, John (Laurie) Cavanaugh of Gardiner; three grandchildren, Chelsea Lee, Victoria and Marley; and two nephews, Michael and Patrick.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Mazei in 2018; a daughter, Mariah Blue Mejias in 2022 and a sister Jacqueline Calvano in 2015.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that Kelly Anne be remembered by praying for someone who is still sick and suffering, helping someone in need, or smiling at a stranger – because that is what she would’ve done.
