Several people were reportedly injured in an accident on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Newburgh today.
Shortly after noontime, the Cronomer Valley Fire Department, Plattekill Fire Department, New York State Police, Mobile Life Support Services, and Town of Newburgh EMS all responded to a motor vehicle accident with reports of multiple vehicles involved and multiple injuries. The accident was located in the southbound lanes near mile marker 64.1.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the New York State Police. A tractor trailer and a 24 hour towing recovery box truck were involved. Additional information has not yet been released by police.
All of the patients were transported by ambulances to local hospitals.
The New York State Thruway Authority and the New York State Department of Transportation assisted at the accident scene. The right lane of the Thruway remained closed until the accident scene was cleared.
