Larkin, Prominent Lawyer and Son of Late Senator, Dies Unexpectedly

William J. Larkin, III, the son of late New York State Senator William “Bill” Larkin, Jr., died unexpectedly yesterday at the age of 67.

Larkin established the law firm of Larkin and Ingrassia in the Town of Newburgh and served as a local attorney for over 40 years. His practice concentrated on family law, entertainment law, and civil defense litigation.

Over the course of his career, Larkin earned recognition and awards for his accomplishments, including being named one of the top 100 trial attorneys in New York State by The National Trial Lawyers. He was also named one of the ten best family law attorneys in New York State by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys.  

He was also the son of Senator Bill Larkin, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 91. William Larkin, III helped Senator Larkin during his many campaigns for the State Senate and State Assembly.

In addition to being a notable attorney, Larkin was also a community volunteer. He coached soccer, baseball, and basketball teams. He also spent many years volunteering with the Newburgh Zion Lions and helped lead them to the national championships.

Memorial donations in Larkin’s memory may be made to the Newburgh Armory Unity Center.
