Bestselling Author to Speak at Public Event at SUNY Orange

Regina Calcaterra, a New York Times Bestselling Author and a 2023 Top 500 Leading Lawyer in America, will speak about her childhood where she endured poverty, homelessness, abuse, the foster care system, and how higher education was the equalizer that led to her current success, during an appearance at SUNY Orange.

Calcaterra’s presentation will take place on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 2:00pm to 3:15pm, in the Gerry Forum (Room 010) of the Rowley Center for Science and Engineering on the College’s Middletown campus.  There will be an opportunity for book purchasing as well.

Her talks focus on the power of resilience, optimism, and education in overcoming adversity and breaking the cycle of poverty. Calcaterra is an alumna of the State University of New York and her story and life serve as an example of the transformative power of public education. Her memoir, “Etched in Sand” has been integrated into high school and college curricula throughout the U.S.

The event is open to the public and is free of charge. To reserve a spot, visit https://machform.sunyorange.edu/view.php?id=777080.
