Newburgh Urban Farm and Food announced they will host Arm-of-the-Sea, an arts ensemble, at the upcoming Urban Farming Fair.
The performance is being sponsored by the Malcolm Gordon Charitable Fund. Arm-of-the-Sea is an arts ensemble that fuses visual storytelling with live music in contemporary works of mask and pupper theater. It was founded in 1982.
Arm-of-the-Sea use low-tech devices of theatrical enhancement to illuminate relations between humans and the life-support networks of this blue-ocean planet.
Under the direction of Marallo & Wadden, the creative team includes music director Eli Winograd and performers Trey Daniels, Kira deCoudres, Maclain Maier, Dee Dee Maucher and Soyal Smalls. Arm-of-the-Sea tours its original productions to cultural centers, festivals, and schools throughout the Northeast. The organization is transforming a former industrial site in Saugerties into the Tidewater Center – a cultural park for Hudson River arts and science projects.
The performance will be presented during the Newburgh Urban Farm & Food’s Urban Farming Fair on April 29, 2023, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, at Downing Park.
