Numerous spring programs for young athletes are coming up and the New Windsor Recreation Department is now accepting registrations.
The Recreation Department and the professional coaches from Quickstrike FC will team up to provide a spring soccer program on Wednesdays starting on April 5, 2023 through May 24, 2023. The program will be held at the Kristi Babcock Memorial park and will teach the fundamentals of soccer mixed with fun drills and games. The program is open to players ages 2 to 12 years old. The fee is $65 for New Windsor residents and $75 for non-residents. Ages 2-4 will meet from 5:15pm to 6:00pm. Ages 5-12 will meet from 6:15 to 7:15pm and will be broken down by age group.
Those players interested in learning tennis may join the Recreation Department and professional coaches from Sportsplex. The program will take place on Mondays from May 1, 2023 through June 5, 2023, at the San Giacomo Park Tennis Courts. The five-week program will introduce the skills of tennis in a fun fit way. Ages 3-4 will meet from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Ages 5-8 will meet from 4:30 to 5:30pm. Ages 9-12 will meet from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. The price of the program is $85 for New Windsor residents and $95 for non-residents.
For athletes who want a little taste of multiple sports, the Recreation Department and professional coaches from Skyhawks Sports Academy will offer a six-week program for 5 and 6 year olds who want to learn flag football, soccer, and baseball. The program will be on Tuesday nights from May 2, 2023 through June 6, 2023, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the Kristi Babcock Memorial Park. Each sport will be touched on for two weeks apiece. The program is $105 for New Windsor residents and $115 for non-residents.
Athletes ages 7-10 who want to learn flag football can join the Recreation Department and professional instructors from Skyhawks Sports Academy for a six-week program from May 2, 2023 through June 6, 2023, from 6:15pm to 7:30pm, at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park. Players will learn the skills of passing, receiving, kicking, and flag pulling.
