Ryan Visits New Windsor School to Kick Off Valentines for Vets

Congressman Pat Ryan recently kicked off his inaugural “Valentines for Vets” program with a visit to New Windsor School in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, where he joined 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students as well as faculty in handwriting messages to local veterans and veteran-caregivers.

“The Hudson Valley is the proud home to West Point, and tens of thousands of my fellow veterans. I’m honored to launch my inaugural ‘Valentines for Vets’ program as a way to say thank you to these men and women who protected this country in uniform,” said Ryan. “This kickoff was made even more special by the students of New Windsor School, who joined me in handwriting notes to our veterans and veteran-caregivers. These heroes have earned our recognition, and I look forward to our office showing them just how much the Hudson Valley community recognizes their sacrifice.”

City of Newburgh Councilman Anthony Grice observed, “Congressman Ryan is the son of a teacher, a father, a husband, a West Point graduate, a veteran, and a friend. He gets what everyday life is like for many people. It was such an honor to have him visit New Windsor School to spend time with our amazing students, and we look forward to having him come back many times.”

The deadline for submission is February 8, 2023. Any members of the public wishing to send a Valentine’s Day card to a veteran can mail it to:
