A City of Newburgh man has been charged with displaying a loaded weapon and aiming it at a person in broad daylight.
Antoine Ford, age 39, allegedly possessed a loaded .45 caliber Ingram MAC-10 pistol and aimed it at another person in the vicinity of 233 Broadway in the City of Newburgh. The incident took place at approximately 10:00am on December 30, 2022, diagonally across from Lutheran Street.
On Monday, Ford was arraigned in Orange County Court on an indictment for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. He remains locked in Orange County Jail on $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 secured bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 6, 2023.
Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler thanked the City of Newburgh Police Department for their fast response to the scene and for arresting Ford.
“The residents of the City of Newburgh should not have to tolerate anyone brazenly brandishing an illegally possessed and dangerous weapon on their streets in broad daylight,” said Hoovler. “My Office will continue to work our law enforcement partners to prosecute those who illegally possess firearms.”
