Catherine A. (Neville) McVeigh, of the Town of Newburgh, passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, January 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Daughter of the late Lloyd Neville, Sr. and Rose (Rogers) Neville, born on May 15, 1938 in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.
Catherine, a lifelong area resident, was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Catherine was a caregiver by nature and a loving friend. She was a woman of many hobbies; travel, gardening, finding yard sales, reading, walking, and of course socializing. She took great pride in her grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. Most of all, she was a well respected fixture in her neighborhood, going above and beyond for all who knew her.
Survivors include three sons, Robert F. McVeigh, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Milton, Daniel McVeigh of Newburgh, and Michael McVeigh and his wife Elizabeth, of Newburgh; a sister in law, Marie Neville of Cornwall; four adored grandchildren; Robert McVeigh, III, Patrick McVeigh, and his wife, Erica, Nicole McVeigh, and Colleen McVeigh; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. McVeigh, Sr., in 2016; and a brother, Lloyd Neville, Jr.
Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
Memorial Visitation will take place for friends and family on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
A Graveside Service will take place at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery.
