Local Organization Receives $25K to Combat Domestic Violence

A non-profit organization based out of Newburgh has received $25,000 in state funding to combat domestic violence. This state money will now become an annual event.

Fearless!, formerly known as Safe Homes, will now start receiving this funding annually under the direction of New York State Senator James Skoufis. The funding was presented to Fearless! Executive Director Kellyann Kostyal-Larrier by Christie Foster, Skoufis’ Chief of Staff, at a recent brunch.

“I’m proud to continue securing the resources Fearless! needs and deserves to best serve domestic violence survivors throughout the Hudson Valley,” said Skoufis. “None of our neighbors should have to live in fear at the hands of a partner, but when they do, Fearless! is there to support, comfort, and empower survivors. I’ll always fight to bring resources back to support their vital work in our communities.”

Skoufis has supported and advocated for violence prevention and harm reduction programming throughout the Hudson Valley.

Fearless! provides advocacy, support, education, prevention, and shelters for victims of domestic abuse, human trafficking, and sexual abuse.
