Temple Hill Students Celebrate Thanksgiving with Medieval Feast

Two Temple Hill Academy teachers celebrated Thanksgiving and their completion of a reading project by converting a classroom into a “Great Hall” for students.

Students in Wanda Gueits-Saunders’ third grade class and Alissa Sanchez’s second grade class recently finished reading The Magic Treehouse, The Knight at Dawn. Their classrooms and the hallway were decorated with medieval castles.

At the end of the reading activity, the students and their teachers participated in a Medieval feast. Each student was given a knight’s helmet or a medieval flower crown to wear during the feast.  The teachers were also in character as the ladies of the Great Hall.

Guetis-Sauders and Sanchez served their students turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn, and cranberry sauce.  When visitors arrived to the classroom, the children welcomed their new guests to “The Great Hall”.

Pies, cookies and other desserts were served for dessert.
