Man Critical Following City of Newburgh Shooting

A man is in critical condition after he was shot inside a residence in the City of Newburgh last night.

At approximately 10:05pm, the City of Newburgh Police Department received multiple calls for shots fired inside of a residence in the area of City Terrace and Van Ness Street. Upon arrival, police learned that a 45 year-old Newburgh resident had been shot in his upper chest and also in his right arm.

City of Newburgh police officers immediately rendered first aid. The victim was then transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for further treatment. The victim is reported to be in critical but stable condition.

Police stated there are no known suspects at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed anything or with information is asked to call the City of Newburgh Police Department at (845) 569-7509. Callers can remain anonymous.
