Missing Father Could be in Cornwall

A father reported missing from western New York could be in Cornwall or Cornwall-on-Hudson, the man’s family believes.

David Rasmussen was reported missing from the City of Tonawanda, located near Buffalo. He has been missing since 6:45 am on Wednesday.

Rasmussen is 56 years old, 5’7″, 160 lbs, and has brown hair and green eyes. He was last wearing a dark orange polo shirt, light colored khaki cargo shorts, and brown dock sider shoes. He was carrying a camouflage backpack with a single pocket on the front with black straps. He was wearing contact lenses at the time of his disappearance, but he also wears prescription eyeglasses with a clip-on sunglasses attachment.

It is believed Rasmussen is on foot. He reportedly did not leave the Tonawanda area driving a vehicle.

The family reported that Rasmussen suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and may be disoriented as to the time and his location. If he is spotted, the family asks that nobody approach him. Instead, police should immediately be notified of the location and time of the sighting.

“He is in desperate need of crisis care and the police have the information to get that for him as soon as possible,” Rasmussen’s daughter Madeline reported.

Anyone believing they have sighted the missing father in the Cornwall or Cornwall-on-Hudson areas should immediately contact the Cornwall Police Department at (845) 534-8100.
