New York State Senator James Skoufis announced that he has received the endorsement of the New York State Troopers PBA, the 4,000-member union representing the state police.
“I am humbled to earn the support of the brave men and women represented by the Troopers PBA,” said Skoufis. “They know there’s only one candidate in this race that will continue to have their members’ backs. I look forward to partnering with them for another two years and being their strong voice in the State Senate.”
“James Skoufis is committed to keeping New Yorkers safe,” noted PBA President Thomas Mungeer. “I am grateful for his work and ongoing commitment to public safety.”
Skoufis has a record of working with the Troopers PBA in the Legislature to ensure their officers have the resources needed to best do their jobs. They have also partnered on measures to enhance public safety, including earlier this year when Skoufis led the charge to make commonsense improvements to the state’s bail reform laws, particularly getting repeat offenders off the streets and cracking down on gun crimes.
Skoufis is running in the new 42nd Senate District which comprises the vast majority of Orange County.
