City of Newburgh Councilman Anthony Grice is teaming up with Team Newburgh Take Back the City to provide free Narcan kits with a short training showing how to use it. Anyone from the public, including entire organizations, are invited to attend.
The kit distribution and training will be held at the City of Newburgh Activity Center at Delano-Hitch Park on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
The life-saving training teaches participants how to recognize, prevent, and respond to an opioid overdose by using a nasal spray. It is called intranasal naloxone, which is a prescription medication used to reverse an overdose.
Registration is required and can be completed online here.
