Cornwall Issues Boil Water Advisory for Firthcliffe Heights

The Town of Cornwall is warning residents to boil their water for those living in portions of Firthcliffe Heights.

At 10:15 am today, the Firthcliffe Heights water system lost pressure due to a shutdown to repair a water leak. When water mains lose pressure, there is a chance of untreated water and harmful bacteria to enter the system.

The boil water notice specifically applies to the western side of Holloran Road in the Route 32 area.

Residents effected should bring their tap water to a rolling boil, continue boiling it for one minute, and cool before using. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food.

Crews are making necessary repairs as quickly as possible. It is likely that water will need to be boiled for the next two to three days before the advisory is lifted.
