Dawn D. Mejias, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Monday, July 25, 2022. She was 65.
Daughter of Francis and Rosalie (Chiumento) Orlando, she was born May 24, 1957 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Dawn was a retired Dietitian and Food Service Supervisor. Famously known for her cooking, she was dedicated to her family, especially all the children. She also loved the beach.
In addition to her parents, of Millbrook, Dawn is survived by two sons, Christopher (Melissa VanVlack) Hanna of Walden and Michael E. Hanna of Newburgh; a stepson, Fernando Mejias IV, of New Windsor; a stepdaughter, Ashley Mejias of New Windsor; a brother, Duke (Margaret) Orlando of Millbrook, NY; a sister, Francine Chorney of Millbrook; a granddaughter, Olivia Hanna, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fernando Mejias, III.
Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Crossroads Assembly of God Church, 7 Dalfonso Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
A Funeral Service will follow at the church at 6:00 pm with Pastor Manny Montalvo officiating.
