Videos: New Windsor First Responders Visit Rec Camps

See videos and photos below

New Windsor youth participating in the Recreation Department’s summer camps were paid visits by members of the New Windsor Police Department and New Windsor Fire Department this week.

Earlier this week, New Windsor Police Officers Bryan Lubarsky and Stefano Gagliardo visited the different camp locations to discuss what police do on a daily basis. The young campers were able to see the inside of a police car and closely examine a police motorcycle.

Today, volunteers from the New Windsor Fire Department attended the youth camp at Ruscitti Park to teach fire prevention. Firefighters donned their turnout gear so youngsters could see what it looks like up close. The eager children saw the inside of a fire engine and some of the firefighting equipment. Under direct supervision from the firefighters, the campers were allowed to practice using a fire hose.
